You enter the ominous Mako Reactor, hearing forboding music in the background. Barret explains the purpose of the reactor, and the fate of the planet. The gates into the reactor are locked, but Biggs and Jessie readily open them. Be sure to obtain the Pheonix Down in this area, as it may prove invaluable in your fight with the Guard Scorpion later on. You descend in the elevator, and through several strange looking rooms. You arrive at the bottom, on a small catwalk suspended over a bright green stream. You take this opportunity to save, should anything happen. Altong the path to the core, you find a Restore Materia blocking your path. You don't know what it does, but you pick it up anyway. Barret tells you to plant the bomb, which causes the Guard Scorpion to arrive.
